So New years eve. . . What joys did today (Well tonight bring)?
We didn’t venture out of the apartment until late. Too many nights on the pop! So when we did go out we needed food. . . . We headed towards Greenwich Village and probably had the worst meal so far. It wasn’t that bad, but not brilliant, crappy service and the steak was very fatty and far too big! Still, we needed to eat. . .
After eating we were both not feeling it at all and were ready to crash. . . but needed to liven up. . . . We found the place called Bar Peculiar and chilled in there for a bit. . . Took over the dukebox and put some of the longest songs ever on! Our music must have been playing all night even though people kept going up and putting more songs in. . . We were laughing at that! As I said we needed to liven up, so to go with our Guinness we had some Jager Bombs (Yeah baby). If that doesn’t liven us up nothing will. . . . . . Well 3 of them and an hour or so later, we were on form again. . . . . 2007 here we come with a big bang!
Leaving the Peculiar bar we went to a place called the Olive Tree. . . . Now that means a bit more to Dave as it has the same name as his favorite place in Southampton. . . But that’s another story (Stories). This place however had a comedy club downstairs and had hosted pretty much all the American comedians, Robin Williams, Chris Rock to name but a few! The funniest part though was that you had to walk through the comedy club to go to the toilet and therefore risked getting heckled! Doh!
Another quite nice thing with this bar / restaurant was that the tables were like chalk boards and you were given chalk to doodle as you wish. . . You can see mine and Dave’s efforts in my photos!
We then headed up to Union Square area, as this is where we were gonna meet up with Marcus and the girls, so dropped into the Heartland Brewery pub. They only sell there own beers! We tried there alternative to Guinness, hmmmmm, not that brilliant!

So Marcus and the girls (Silvia & Ashley) turned up and we headed off to the party. Now we didn’t really know what to expect, we had just been invited by Marcus. . . . .
Well, as you can see from the photos, we were the only white people there! Had such a great time and a laugh with everyone, was just a shock when we walked in! So ended up chatting to pretty much everyone (and rumour has it, we saw the New Year in).
Now, I don’t wanna harp on about this, but check out the mess that Dave got him self into. . . How funny is that. . . The guy couldn’t even stand up?!?! Bless. . . Needless to say the evening ended quicker for him than he anticipated! Ashley also got herself into a bit of a state and spent sometime on the floor. . . (Sorry for mentioning that). So, we dropped the girls off at Ashleys and headed back to the apartment (It’s about 2.30am). I carried Dave into the apartment, threw him onto his bed and went back out to Tom & Jerry’s!
Chatted to the cool barman in there, who has also done traveling and chatted to this guy and girl for a bit, then realize that the guy was hitting on me. . . . hmmmm (Dude, I am not Gay?!). Needless to say I started talking about girls a lot. . . It was quite funny seeing his face when the penny dropped! Doh!
So, my New Year ended about 5.30 (in Tom & Jerry’s anyway). After a bit of a lock in and many free drinks I headed off home and started emailing people. . . hmmm, not a good idea! But fortunately enough I fell a sleep on the couch (Again). . . . Woke up at 8.30 and went to bed! Happy New Year!
