So have had quite a chilled out week, as was intended, following on from wandering around the financial district.
Failed to mention previously that we watched the movie ‘Borat’! Very strange watching that in the US, as it somewhat takes the P*** out of America?!?!? Needless to say, a few guys walked out in disgust!
We also took in the Bodies museum . . . Very surreal experience . . .. To help you see what a body really looks like on the inside, this Exhibition uses real human bodies that have been preserved so they do not decay. A human specimen is first preserved according to standard mortuary science. The specimen is then dissected to show whatever it is that someone wants to display. Once dissected, the specimen is immersed in acetone, which eliminates all body water. The specimen is then placed in a large bath of silicone, or polymer, and sealed in a vacuum chamber. Under vacuum, acetone leaves the body in the form of gas and the polymer replaces it, entering each cell and body tissue. A catalyst is then applied to the specimen, hardening it and completing the process. This method of preservation creates a specimen that will not decay.
Yeah, like I remembered all that. . . ? Sorry to disappoint, but copied it from their website. . . . It’s interesting, take a look:

Later in the week we found a great bar called Tom & Jerry’s, very friendly barmaid and clientele. They have a big screen playing all the old movies . . . . So we watch a bit of White Christmas and had a few pints of Guinness to get into the festive season . . . Followed by a trip up to Union Square Cinema to watch a proper film . . . Casino Royale, the new Bond film, which I think was pretty good!
On Thursday, we went to see a great show. . . ‘Blue Man Group’. Excellent does not begin to describe this show. . . You left the small theatre full of energy and joy. . . Great experience! To again quote a website:
Blue Man Group is a creative organization dedicated to creating exciting and innovative work in a wide variety of media. They are perhaps best known for their successful theatrical productions, which combine comedy, music and multi-media artistry to create a form of entertainment that is totally unique.
Again, very interesting, so please take a look:

Chilled out for the rest of the week and went for a great lunch at a very nice restaurant, ‘Baltazar’. . . . hhhmmmm, tasty! http://www.balthazarny.com/splash.html
Then had Vegetarian Thai in the evening. . . hhhmmmmm, also very tasty. Have I mentioned the food! It has all been very good. . . !
And then yes, in true traditional style, not wanting to let the side down, I went out last night (Friday) and got a little drunk. . . We met up with Gillian and her friend (We are renting her apartment), she is very friendly, a writer for an online woman’s magazine. Sonds like something like ‘Sex in the City’. She goes to lots of free bashes and stuff and then writes about all the weirdos she meets, well that’s my interpretation of it anyway!
We then met up with Marcus and some of his friends. . . Dave used to live with Marcus here before. What a great fun guy, so funny and full of energy. Finally we ended up meeting some other friends (who I had met the other night when Dave left me?!?). we continued into the early hours and now I am sat on the couch typing this feeling somewhat. . . . Lets just say tired!
So, it’s the weekend. . . Not that that makes any difference here. . . And tonight we are going to see, what I hope to be a great Monty Python play ‘Spamalot’.
So, ciao for now people, keep sending the emails and posting comments on my message board. It’s great to hear from you all. . .
