So, did Montreal redeem itself? Well sort of. . . We had a good evening. . .After some more research and not listening to anything anyone had told us, I suggested a different area of the city, now I don’t know if it was just coincidence, luck or just my good judgment, but things did improve. . . We headed further east and found a few potential bars for drinks after food and then found a very nice Italian Restaurant. A bit weird really, as they spoke French?!? Anyway, great meal. . . . !
We then headed back to this bar called St Elizabeth’s, supposed to be difficult to find, but we found it ok. A good place for locals, etc and it was. It had a good feel to the place and a proper log burning fire, so we washed the food down with a few glasses of Leffe and did some comedy people watching. Now people watching as you know can some times be quite amusing and this pub offered a few. . .
From the guy sat on his own thinking he has got a chance with the good looking barmaid, who is clearly just amusing him and accepting his drink offers and tips!
To the groups of people doing there own thing and the set of very young girls who line up 3 different shots and proceed to nail them, before one of the girls turns a funny colour and heads off to the toilet for a while to ‘Talk to God on the big white telephone’. Go on, imagine it, hair all covered and going “aarrrrr god, bluuurrrr!” Nice! Attractive!?!?! Not!
So, anyway after all that entertainment and food and the prospect of getting up early to leave this crazy town, we decided to head home and crash!
I am now gladly sat on the train heading towards the US boarder, feeling quite excited to be going back to NYC! I actually feel quite giddy about it. . . Think we might go crazy Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (New Years Eve), then just sleep for a day. . . hmmmm, yeah, that sounds like a plan? (Dave’s giggling, as he has just read what I put. . . He hasn’t disagreed?).
