Road tripped up in a hired car to find the famous ski and mountain bike town. We stayed at the most amazing hostel. It was like on the movies. All made of wood with a big fire place area and cute little bed areas. The town itself reminded me very much of Queenstown.
We only had one full day here. On the way we had visited Shannon waterfall, then we went on a train hunt. We walked along the train tracks to find 7 old derailed train carriages. They have been abandoned so people have graffiti them and made a BMX track from them. It took a long time to find them but well worth it in the end. For the second part of the day we went mountain biking. So awesome! I did 5 runs on total, the whole time trying to remember all of Susies and cousin Bradshaws advice to help me go super fast without falling off. Bridgette managed to see 5 bears on her path which sounded amazing and bloody scary. Such a thrilling day, so much adrenaline and so worth the risk of not being covered by travel insurance. We showered, had a beer and were all asleep within minutes.
Great adventure to Whistler, one that I would highly recommend.
