Before you ask...Yes that is me (Rich) in the picture.

Surfers Paradise was a really nice place, the 1st day we arrived it rained all day so we just lounged around the hostel all day chatting to people, it was a really small hostel but we managed to be talking to this Irish couple for 5mins before realising we had met before in Cairns...small world you might think but this mext story is even crazier! When our flight to Bangkok was cancelled (ages ago now) we flew to KL and at the airport were talking to these 4 guys who were on our plane, literally a 1min conversation about how to get to the city, and low and behold they were at the very same hostel aswell!! CRAZY.

Anyway. 26th of Jan is Australia day, we went to the beach as the weather was awesome and the waves were awesome, Hannah didnt like the huge waves as she kept getting knocked over!! We went to a quieter part where the waves wern't as good but Hannah enjoyed herself more! Plus it was fun watching her swimming around getting covered by really small waves!! More fun than im sure it sounds!

In the evening we bought some beers from the bottle shop, they had a free BBQ at the hostel, so in tru Aussie tradition we ate Sausages and drank beer all night long.

The Irish couple are heading down to Byron Bay with us so im sure we'll continue our Australia day fun down there with them.
