Hello again, seems like were doing blogs left right and centre now, although the pics are still ridiculously slow and were getting to the stage now where we are not even trying, maybe when we have some free time we'll have a go, we seem to be constantly doing cool things and only get 15mins online here and there!!
Fraser Island was truely amazing, on the guided tour we got to see so much more than the self drive option (plus we didnt stop eating and drinking inclusive stuff for the whole 3 days) Plus we got to meet some cool people from all over the world including the youngest guy we had met so far called Lucas (18) from Austria who was in our room, Rich even learned the "traditional story of the dutch Christmas!!"
Some of the sights we saw included beautiful lake such as...Lake Mackenzie, Lake Birrabean, Lake Wabby. All were equally as good and different at the same time. We saw some sharks chasing schools of fish from a lookout point called Indian Head! One of the highlights was a place called Champange rock pools which was a series of rock pools where the HUGE waves crashed into and made so much foam and bubbles...hence the name "champange!"
The waves along the coast were bigger than we have seen anywhere so far! one place called eli creek flowed down towards the sea. This was cool as we walked up against the current then just slowly floated back down towards the sea.
After 3 very enjoyable days we headed back to the ferry, the only dissapointment so far was that we hadn't yet seen a dingoe.....but on the drive back we saw one wandering up a pathway so the trip was complete!! Next stop is a place called Noosa which was recommended to us by an Isralei guy from our hostel.
Hope everything is OK with everyone back home, just in case your wondering its getting hotter now and we seemed to have got away from the cyclone up north!
With (warm) regards Rich and Hannah
