So the third destination of our travels.. the famous island of phi phi... an i have no idea wots going on with the photos.. only loaded a few an not the best ones.. anyway back to phi phi.. an amazing island but wasn't that way at first.. our first day on the island we decided to stay on long beach.. i read about it before we come out an just seemed like an incredible place to stay... palm trees... beautiful beach nice restaraunt and all meters from your front door.. couldn't really complain as this is exactly what it was.. paid a bit over the odds for a beach front bungalow, not the best accomodation weve had but the setting was amazing..just literally take a few steps out the front door an we was on the beach!! but this was costing us 1,100 a night... bout 15 quid which out here is a fortune!! we tried walking further down long beach to find some accomodation a bit cheaper an we did... 400 bhat a bungalow.. asked the owner if we could see it first an im so glad we did.. if uve ever seen the film ' trainspotting' and rember the seen where he goes into the worste bogs in scotland.. well if you was to put a mattress on the floor of them tilets that you have what we was looking at minuse the urinal!! we quickly decided against the idea and as the world cup final was the next day an there was no t.v on long beach we decided to move to phi phi town... as soon as we got there we both loved it.. everthing you need.. bars .. people.. little shops .. markets ... restaraunts.. all you need to keep you entertained. we checked into our room then went exploring.. as weve heard so much about the diving on phi phi an there is so many dive shops on the island we thought we would speak to a few... an was totally sold by the idea... plus something ive always wanted to do... swim with sharks!!! completely harmless but if ya saw them withought out knowing this im sure you would be a biut worried to say the least... so we booked it up but not the next day as this night was cup final night.. and how gutted was i!! carnt say i wasn't expecting it but hey... at least i was in a bar full of england fans... think most of them where football fans.. nothing like watching the rugby an listen to some eguit start singing 3 lions on our shirt!! the day after was our chill out day.. got up late.. watched films an then went for a walk round the island. very pretty an people here are so friendly.. mostly because they want you to buy something from there shop but that doesn't matter there friendly nun the less... that night we had a bit of a dissapointing meal by the sea front.. prices looked good but the portions where rubbish... finsihed off the night with a pancake an headea for home.. an early night so we could get up nice an early to go diving!!! the next moring we got to the dive shop at 7:45 an was set to go.. weather was a bit moggy but me an dani just figured it was because we was up so early... headed down to the boat an we was on our way.. mike an colin the instructors give us our brief on the way to the first dive sight and just genrally had bit of laugh an banter with them.. then it was time for the first dive.. put the gear on an lept in... to start with you just do some general skills like filling an clearing ure mask an what to do if your resperator comes out your mouth an then we was set to go... is an undiscribable exipirience... only know what its like if youve done it ureself.. another world under water and the abuyndance of sea life was amasing.. swimming amonmgst the coral and one memory that sticks in my mind is swimming of the edge of the reef an seeing what can only be described as a waterfall of tiny fish ... was great.. an just to top of the first dive we saw a turtle feeding of the reef!! after this we grabbed some lunch on the boat which i have to say was well yummy an got ready for the secon dive.. the shark dive... just jumping in the water was a bit of a buzz knowing they wa sbelow us... and we was given alot more freedom swimming around... the heart soon started beating when our intructor mike done the shark sign an pointed ahead an just caught a glimps of a tail swimming into the disatance... the second sightin was much the same.. just a quick glimps .. was bit gutted as my air was running low but just before we surface we saw one as clear as anything about 10 meters ahead of us... incredible expieirence an deffinately one i wont forget in a hurry!!! our final day on the island we tried to keep cheap.. more exploring.. decided to go the the phi view-point an what a hike that was.. after about 40 mins of wlaking up stairs and steep paths and a bucket of sweat later we reached the view point... an was an amasing sight.. vbery picturesque... and had a restaraunt on top so we just chilled out looked threw some folders the lady had about the tsunami and had a few well deserved ice lollys.. well that pretty much sums up phi phi.. loveley island an next destination is krabi back on the main land.. speak soon byeee rich an dani xxx
