So here we are the first entry of our blog and the4th day of our 'learning expierience'... flight over here was all gd... no delays and on demand t.vs in the headrest of each seat.. cracking food aswell so carnt complain.. the ride from ther airport to the hotel was all good aswell... bit expensive maybe for over here thow but we did travel in style... 4x4 lexus cost roughly a tenner for a 40min journey!! aint gonna get that back home but trust me here that is deer. first hotel was a bit of a deisaster... turned up to find out they had no record of our booking as lastminute.com chose not to tell us that the hotel we chose was fully booked!! after two hours of messing round ringing england an gettin good old kev on the case we had it all sorted and moved on to hotel numero 2. the d'ma.. very nice good location an treated like royalty.. staff carrying our bags and at first me an dani got a bit giddy tipping people with hundred bhat notes... soon found out most of them are on about 200 bhat a day so given them 100 is like someone handing u half a days wage for 5 mins work!! anyways enuff about that are first day in bankok was pretty waysted... after the jetlag wore off it was about 3pm so we decided to just take a wonder aorund the city an see what it had to offer... and there first thing you rearlise is the smells!!! and weird ones at that... like wlaking threw an old peoples home but worse in a way... lots of stands selling food but doesn't smell like walking past a chinese like we thought it was... weve come to the conclusion that the oil they use to cook there food stinks ...lol ... tayste nice but smell rough. other than this there is some amazing sites.. pictures of there king are everywhere and even come across an open prayer ground where some lady tried to con us... telling us about som amazing 1 day sale on jewlery and before we new it she shuved us into a tuk tuk and sent us on our way... we jumped out 200 meters down the road and ducked down to hide from her thow lol..... shame!!! rest of the day was just wondering the streets... had lunch for a 100 bhat roughly 1.50 to us which was to drinks an two plates of food... Bargain !!! y-day was our day for sight seeing walked out the hotel to jump in what there hotel call there limo service which if any one knows Lav's banged out old mercedes was worse than that!!! and chose to conk out randomly in the middle of roads.. but all the same was good fun.. driver was a legend an took us to a proper travel agents to book phuket where we heading today .... 13 hrs on a coach oooh the joy of being a backpacker!! see how long eye spy an the num[erplate game can last aye... so back the the site... went to the golden palace ( waht phan kong or sommin all sound the same and i dont have a map) was an amazing site.. not that me an dani knew what the piont of it was but nun the less was an incredible site... massive golden staues and buildings that had amazing working gone into them... if i manage to get the pics up u will c.... an also the biggest buddah ive ever seen... not that ive seen any but im pretty sure this one is the biggets i will even see... called the sleeping buddah... lieing down bout 50m high an roughly 200 m long... gold plated!!! was huge! after this we headed back to the hotel in tuk tuks.. brilliant fun but they always try there luck give u a price and then try an say thats per person when ure half way there! just gotta bew firm but fair even when there beggin ya like is hard but at end of the day tourist pay twice the price of locals so there getting more money out of ya anyway. so that covers the day... now last nights events... patphong ( the red light district) very strange place and nothing like amsterdam! can only decribe it as a market but down each side is lined with bars with the most annoying pr's in the worlds... but unlike the streets of a holiday destination there not offering u drinks there telling u there prices on ping pong shows and shouting 'p**** p**** at ya... one fella cam up to us an goes ' u wanna c lady boy show yer.. follow me' and then walked in front of us so it looked like we wanted to go!! wasn't best pleased... an when u go off into the mrket to get away they yell at ya lol... we did however venture into a couple of bars... thai girls just dancing in bikinis... me an dani sinkin back few beers trying to decided which ones are chicks and which ones are chicks with d*** ... and they convinently give them all numbers to save the dirty old b******s dotted around the bar the trouble of having to try to comunicate with them...lol!!! well ill leave it there..
