We started our organised trip last Saturday from Bangkok to Chiang Mai....we really didnt realise how hard it was going to be.
We met up with our group at the organised location and everyone was really great we had a good group and it was nice to have some company. We took a night train to Chaing Mai and then arrived at our guesthouse in the middle of the city and that was very nice too. A few of us decided to do a cycling tour of the city which we did in the afternoon....ria had to have a special helmet it wouldnt fit her head hehe.......and shes so funny on a bike!! Anyway that was nice and we went to bed after shopping in the markets. The next day we headed off early for the start of our trekking...we went elephant riding to start that was great there such a strong animal and very greedy(ate 2 bags of bananas) but it was fun plus we had a baby elephant following us as we sat on the mother awwww!!
Then the hard stuff started the trekking....nothing could prepare you fpr this no gym...nothing!! we walkeda combined total of 23 miles in 3 days up and down these huge mountains it rained really hard on the 2nd day and we had no electric or hot water the hole time....we were fed just rice mainly. It was nice staying in local villages and i got to play football with the kids i didnt give them a kick!! and sleeping was comfortable in bamboo huts. Ria really suprised me she was brilliant and was better than most at trekking the slippery terrain. Anyway we arrived back at our guesthouse on the Thursday and the hot shower was very welcoming.....where now back in Bangkok after catching a overnight train and Rias been ill so where just relaxing after a hard week.
Anyway got to go heading south this week to tropical islands and im about to have a Thai massagexxxx
