Okay, today was an adventure! We got collected at 7.30 Fiji time (which means 8.30) and the bus took us to Nadi again to get supplies for our ongoing journey. We then headed to Natadola beach, rated Fiji's finest. It really was beautiful with white sand and huge waves for Howellsey to play in! I remained mainly on the beach itself watching the cute kids playing rugby with no ball (read: fighting!) and reading my book. We had a fab BBQ lunch cooked by our guides (Jerry and William) before moving on. Next stop was Sigatoka for some dune boarding! We basically threw ourselves off the top of a very tall and steep sand dune on a boogie board! Really scary but after a few practice goes, really good fun. As luck would have it, the local town was playing Nadi at rugby in the provincial cup at 3.30pm and William was not going to miss that for anything!! We paid about £3.50 for the priviledge of watching Nadro put 40 points on Nadi! What a game! The final conversions taken by Nadro were by a big prop who proceeded to take the mick out of the 'johnny wilkinson' stance, much to the amusement of the crowd! We arrived at Mango Bay to find out we had been upgraded to a beautiful bure (see tomorrow's pic, today's is of the flowers they put everywhere, hibiscus?). We took part in a Kava welcoming ceremony and got some very furry tongues before a very decent tea. Looking forward to what tomorrow brings!! Fiji rocks!! In the evening the staff treated us to some traditional songs (the band they had originally booked had not turned up due to the Nadro rugby result and post match party - this place really does love it's rugby!), and William and Ian serenaded me with a version if 'red red wine' and 'bachelor boy' for my entertainment. Kava + Fiji bitter (also known as Fiji baby - because you should nurse your beer as you would your baby!) = a good time!!
