Today we are in the charming rustic Alaskan Town of Ketchikan. Fishing has long been the bread and butter of this town with the first cannery opened back in 1886. There is a great collection of carved totem poles.
We decided to tour the city with a Ketchikan Duck Tour. It took us along the rustic streets and then the boat ride along the Tongass Narrows and harbor front.
What would a trip to Alaska be without a Lumberjack Show? So we had a great time at the show with lumberjacks showing thier skills at log rolling, chopping, chainsaws and speed climbing. It was lots of fun as we could cheer on our "camp" for victory. Lucy, Jen and I even got our picture with these good looking guys on our way out!
Ketchikan is known for their rainy days. We did have most of the day and the lumberjack show with clouds and some drizzle. Didn't seem to dampen our opinion of the town and fun atmosphere.
