Today we are in the Inside Passage crusing. The views are absolutely breath taking! We enjoyed our balcony rooms with sightings of whales and views that pictures cannot capture. Glaciers, Misty Rain Forests and fiords.
We had extra excitement this afternoon as there was an "Oscar....Oscar....Oscar" anouncement which means "man overboard". We learned that someone believed they sighted two people in the water. The ship sent 3 small boats out for the search and the Coast Guard was called in with thermal cameras. We were dismissed after about 3 hours and the sighting was determined to probably be dolhins.
Besides the beautiful views we had time to enjoy the ship and take advantage of the Solarium with the hot tub. There was also the sculpting of the ice the ship crew had picked up at Hubbard Glacier and a BBQ out on deck.
As always dinner was great.....with Estephan and Tyzar taking good care of us. But tonight was the best views as we cruised through the inside passage.
A real bonus for the day was having a large pod of dolphins following the ship for over an hour this evening at sunset. We think there were probably 50 of them jumping and swimming with us. A great ending of a great day!
