The marine wilderness of Glacier Bay National Park is snow-capped mountains, coastal beaches, deep fjords, rivers and lakes and glaciers. We are in the native village of Hoonah and part of the history here is the salmon cannery.
We were tendered into this port and had a very exciting day. Randy, Len and Roger went on a Halibut fishing excursion. They were out about 3 1/2 hours and came back with Halibut!! They are having it sent back to MN to enjoy.
Lucy and I went on a whale watching excursion. The trip out was absolutely beautiful and took us to Point Adolphus. The water was surprisingly calm and we did see the premier Humpback whales as well as a couple of "families" of Orca.
Another very fun day in this beautiful area of Glacier Bay!
