Denali Park is home to North America's highest mountain, Mt. McKinley, towering over 20,300 feet tall. The park is 6 million acres where there is your best opportunity to see Alaska's wildlife.
Today we took the "Tundra Tour" taking us 90 miles into Denali National Park. It was a 8 hour tour and we were lucky to see many animals. We saw herds of Caribou, at least a half dozen grizzlies ( one with 2 cubs ) , lynx, fox, Dall Sheep, a Gray Wolf, and we were very excited to see a Cow Moose and Calf.
The terrain was ever changing and fall colors starting to appear. The mountains had a fresh covering of snow from overnight. Beautiful!!
I finished the day with white water rafting. It was very fun with class 4 rapids. The view was great going down the Nenana River.
A great day in Denali!
