We checked out of our hotel at 12pm and headed to the train station.

Unlike the last sleeper train we'd got, we booked one that had 4 bunks instead of 6 so we were able to sit up this time. We booked the bottom bunks as well as they tend to have more room. We also booked the day sleeper on purpose so we could watch out for bunks and then get a decent nights sleep once at the hostel in Nha Trang.

We got on the train and a Vietnamese man and his mother got on. Obviously they'd booked the top bunks knowing this 80 year old woman couldn't climb up so Mark had to give up his bunk. Why even book the top ones to begin with?!!!

The train had been used as a sleeper train the night before and the bed sheets hadn't been swapped for fresh ones
