Siem Reap is close to Angkor Wat, an ancient temple so we got up at 4:30am so we could see the sunrise over the top. We had hired a tuk tuk driver from 5am-2pm to take us to Angkor Wat and then around the ruins nearby. On arrival we found the entrance price to be $20 each (total rip off) and we didn't have enough so we had to hop back in the tuk tuk drive 10 minutes to the nearest ATM and back and hoping that we wouldn't miss sunrise. We left Phnom Penh at 12pm and got on a coach to travel to the other main city in Cambodia - Siem Reap. The journey took 7 hours but it was a nice journey as we were on a good bus as it had wifi and plug sockets so we were entertained. We arrived at the Mad Monkey hostel around 8pm. We set off from HCMC at 8am and headed for the border to cross into Cambodia. This is the second land border cross we have done and it's still such a strange experience.
