we thought we would check out melaka which is an historical town, not far south of K.L. took around 2 hours on a coach.
from the bus station we had to catch a local bus to the town centre, and the driver directed us to where our accomodation was.... well that was what we thought. instead we ended up walking around with our heavy bags in the hot sun for ages, asking lots of people if they knew where we wanted to go. it turned out that the bus driver had pointed us in the opposite direction, and we had walked in a big circle, when in fact it was only 5 minutes the other way. was pretty annoyed!!
we were exhausted after this and decided to chill out in our room. staying at travellers lodge which is really nice. we have a room with a window and balcony this time!! luxury! had a walk around the town and saw lots of trickshaws lit up with flashing lights and booming music! was very funny! they looked all pimped up! might have to have a ride in one for a giggle!
sarah is still really ill, so we have made the decision to go to the doctors. luckily the medical centre is just round the corner from where we are staying. we head there straight away the next morning. this is her 6th day of being ill now. she cant keep any food or drink down which is making her feel drained of energy, and not sleeping through the night due to spending most of it in the bathroom! the doctor gives her lots of different antibiotics to take and she writes down that she has acute gastroenteritis. as soon as she starts taking the antibiotics, she starts to feel better which is a relief. it cost her about 30 pounds in total to see the doctor and for her prescription, but she would pay anything to feel better again which i dont blame her!
we then walked around to see some of the historical sights. went up st pauls hill for views and to see the ruined church, a museum, gardens, mosques and lunch by the river. looks very european. its way too hot here and walking around was a nightmare. we have decided to stay another day just to relax and do nothing! and for sarah to get over her illness.
