Waking up in a boiling hot room, I tried to remember last night when I had said New Zealand was a much nicer temperature than Australia. Sadly that was only true when I thought there would be air conditioning in the room!

I tried to take it easy on DG as he was still a bit fragile with jetlag and getting used to hostel life, so we wondered around Auckland, deciding we weren't completely convinced we liked it. But that was possibly due to lack of sleep and restlessness as we just wanted to get on the bus and go.

While DG went to sort his bank account out, I went to the Kiwi Experience shop to double check bus details as the website proved too confusing with awful wifi. And it was a good thing I did! STA had booked us on to the wrong bus, going up to the Bay of Islands rather than down to Hot Water Beach. After getting us booked onto the right bus, we had a relaxing rest of the day, finishing it off with some Nandos and Grey's Anatomy. It's safe to say we were taking it easy before our month of full on activities!
