The plan for Bangkok this time was to try and see as much as we could as we won't be returning (on this trip anyway). Happy we'd seen the seedy side of the city last night we were heading to the shopping centre, Siem Square.
We've come to one big conclusion throughout this trip that...... all taxi drivers are scum and not to be trusted so we were using the public transport (it's also far more fun).
We got the boat down river to the central station were we then changed onto the Bangkok Skytrain. Tom had a smile from ear to ear! The Skytrain was rapid (compared to a bus in the standing traffic) and we quickly arrived in the down town area. We walked around for a bit and found the massive MBK shopping centre, looked really modern from the outside, but is more like a very large Blackburn Arndale once inside.
Hungry we ate our first McDonalds of the trip and it was ace! A DOUBLE BigMc each, large fries covered in salt!
The store was pretty cool had loads of places to shop (seven huge floors) and full to the brim with copied gear (good if you're next stop is home, not so when you have to carry it around). We managed to finally pick up some sun cream we trust from the Boots, spent a whooping 15 quid in total!
After a few hours of walking around we paid a visit to the cinema to watch "The Final Destination" with Digital Projection and in 3D! Standing up for the King is always fun here, they love that guy, the more we hear about him the more we love him!
The evening we spent eating in one of the street stalls and we managed to meet-up with Nathan and Hannah who we'd originally met in Halong bay. Hannah was leaving tomorrow morning so we had a few beers and then briefly visited a "BANGIN" club on Ko San Road. We love Bangkok, the best city to date!
