The flight was great and we arrived in Bangkok at 9.00am, we'd managed to get a couple of hours sleep on the plane but still felt quite tired. We got a bus from the airport to our new residence for the next couple of days- Banglampu, Bangkok The first thing we both thought when we arrived on Koh san Road (which is the main street) was how touristy it was, much like Spain, with prices to match. Not what we expected at all On the plus side, this was quite refreshing after India, everywhere was clean and tidy with proper roads we could actually drive on. We grabbed a drink, then headed towards the cheaper end of town where we found a guest house with a double room and shared bathroom.
We went out for a few beers and met a guy called Matt, who had been the Thailand a few times before. We agreed to meet up for tea that evening. The travelling and the 6.4 percent Chang beer had taken it toll on Rachael, drunk and ready for a sleep we headed back for a couple of hours sleep.
Tea that evening was great, we ate at the famous Bangkok street stalls and shared a barbecued fish. The rains arrived and we sat under an umbrella for a few hours, drinking and chatting. A few more Chang's later, it had got to 2.30am and this time it was Toms turn to be taken home drunk!
