We arrived in Sydney Airport around 5pm local time and went through customs and then collected our bags. We had to go through the place where you have to declare any food etc and Gina got checked but after many questions she was allowed to go through. We followed the signs for Qantas domestic transfers and dropped our bags off again. We then went through security and got a bus to the domestic terminal. We waited at the gate for our Qantas flight to Cairns. At 7.15pm we boarded the plane and left for Cairns. It took around 2 and a half hours to get there. I tried to get some sleep on the flight. When we arrived we collected our bags and headed to the taxi rank. We were out the airport so quick as we didn't have to go through customs. We got a taxi to Cascade Gardens where we are staying for 5 nights. It only took 10 minutes from the airport and cost $15.00 between us. We have our own apartment and we are only paying roughly GBP12.00 per night for it. We were really pleased with it. It was around 11pm by the time we had got settled so we went to bed as we were really tired.
