We got up ready to leave the hostel at 8am. Everyone is really hungover today including Gina and myself. We are heading to Christchurch. This is the last stop on the Kiwi Experience bus and the last place that we will visit in New Zealand. We headed out of Queenstown, through the Kawarau Gorge and further on up over the Lindis Pass into the Mackenzie Country. We got some awesome views of Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain. Mount Cook is New Zealand's highest peak at 3,754 metres. The height of Mount Cook changed dramatically in December 1991 when it lost 10 metres off the top. The Maori name for the mountain is 'Aoraki' meaning cloud piercer. We stopped off at the amazing aqua blue Lake Pukaki for lunch. Then it was a straight run into Christchurch. We arrived here around 5pm and checked into our hostel - Base where we are staying for 2 nights. We got 50% off our stay here with our Explore New Zealand cards. We are in a dorm room with Sam, Charlotte and Kim. We went out for some food and then we met everyone at Saints and Sinners bar. All the lads were out and Andrew, Sam, Charlotte and Kim were also out for their last night in New Zealand. Graham had been distant with me all day which continued into this evening. We had argued the night before over something really stupid as he had been really drunk. We both like each other and I think the reality that we have to go our separate ways soon is starting to hit home. At the end of the night Gina and I said goodbye to everyone who was leaving tomorrow. Sad times as they have been such great people but as Charlotte and Kim live in Portsmouth we will be meeting up when Gina and I get back to the UK.
