All the tips I got about Isle of Skye were spot on, what a place! Best description I could give is raw, plenty of hiking was done.
The first lot was up a steep trail to a landmark named the old man of storr which is a free standing monolith. Then around to another range of these glacial cut cliffs called the quiraing, im sure i just mispelt that.
Generally going for walks in oz you have a nice guard rail, or at least most of the time in the blue mountains on the way to leura you do... But here you are literally walking around sheep tracks cut into the side of the mountain.
As you can see in the photos there are plenty of landslide spots and the narrow path can be a little daunting in parts.
Where plenty of ppl were turning back i soldiered on to the finish and was rewarded with a spectacular view.
Also visited dunvegan castle which is where the Mcleods lived. As i approached the ticket booth i considered replying when asked how many tickets, "there can be only one", but chickened out...
Paying 9 pounds for it seemed crap compared to the previous 5 hours or so of hiking i had just completed!
Incredibly lucky with the weather the past few days as well, 20 degrees or so and perfect blue.
But the Attenbrough aspect of Scotland is now done, and have 3 rounds of golf booked over the next 4 days...
Now, where did i pack the
anti-inflammatories?

Waz Thanks jill. Pettina thinks skye is fairly similar to bald rock... I should have just paid them a visit, it would have been cheaper!
