25th of November = official day of dive training!!!
I met the crew last night as well as the other trainees that I'll b spending the next 6 weeks with! So Diego (from Mexico city) I met last year breifly.. He looks exactly like a dive master I met working at wicked last year called Kaarina! Nice guy.. Knows his stuff! Can't wait to pick his brains regarding
Diving in the red sea!
So the 3 other trainees.. So there is Katie from a Lil town near redding UK, she's dived the philipines and done marine conservation there so I think we will get along just fine!! She's just come from Laos.. But also done Cambodia, vietnam and china... She's heading to aus next!!
Then there's Adam from the US.. He hasn't dived in 11 years but he's really pumped to see some big stuff! He has been working in china the last few year.. I think he has Lots of stories to be told..
Lastly there is this dude called jeff.. He is from the US too... And Over the last fee years has set up an English school in japan. Wants to get into the photography side when he finishes training... He has dived all over incl. Sipidan and mabul (Borneo) where I'm heading next.. He has a pretty decent underwater camera so im looking forward to seeing his shots!
After the meeting (which was intense at times) we headed for dinner and a beer.. Except no one drinks except me!!! WTF! So I was having a Chang on my lonesome whilst everyone sipped their fruit shake! Ha! Oh well.. We r supposed to b working here!
Woken up this morning to the most hectic rooster orchestra I have ever heard!! It started at 4am and went for hrs!!! Great motivation to get up early and go for a run.. Which i did :)
Beach for me today.. Then meeting with the crew at 2pm..
I'm already starting to feel right at home. Its funny how such a Lil town 9hrs plane from aus has such a inviting feel!
