The last afternoon in panglao I chilled out trying to cope with my viscous tanduay hangover and J and Rohan were zooming around getting organized with stuff.. Rohan ended up buying his ticket for the boat before we did.
So the 3 of us get to tagbiliran pier with about 15min to spare before the boatto siquijor leaves.. So Into the terminal we go looking straight for the ticket counter.. From there we got our seat numbers, bought some snacks for the journey, went through security and got on the boat.. Not until we got on the boat and Rohan wasnt on there that we realized we hadnt seen him since we got to the terminal... Its all a little weird :S ... So down to 2.. J and I enjoyed the 3 hr trip on the top deck watching the amazing sun set over the water !
By the time we organized a motorbike to hire and got to kiwi dive resort it was around 11:00... And we were in the mood for a bite to eat and a sneaky red horse beer! So off exploring we got to the town of larena to enjoy a meal and a beer at the only place that would take us... Along the way we saw a group of dancers practicing outside a fire station so the curious beavers we both are got off the bike and joined in!! Great fun and and lots of laughs!! So we found place called breakpoint - Hmmm the menu looked great but it was whatever the chef wanted to cook at the time... Even know the table next to us got amazing pizza, pasta and ice-cream sundaes. Whilst we were stuck with Chilli squid and beef burger steak in claggy gravy.. Hehe a kittle weird.
Nice big sleep in the next morning.. HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!! With muesli and fruit and proper brewed coffee for breakfast, followed by a lazy noon alternating between dips in the turquoise ocean right at our doorstep and reading in the hammock the morning was deliicious!! This place is exquisite.. Little huts with mozzie nets, pebbled paths, little huts to chill out in on the beach, fantastic fresh food and the snorkeling wasn't too bad either!
In the afternoon we jump on the motorcycle and head off on an adventure to find the waterfalls taking the scenic mountainous route. After traveling through shanty town, high mountains with breathtaking views we found the waterfalls and indulged in a dip! Pretty decent waterfall actually!! I've seen so Many waterfalls and the are said to be amazing.. And u get there and it's less than a donkeys piss!
We got back starving after our 5 hr adventure and ate at the hotel- lentils followed by chocolate pancakes ! Wait the pancakes sound better than they actually were.. But that was the Closest to chocolate I could find ha! But atmosphere was really chilled and good!
The next day was even lazier.. Swim, snorkel, breakfast... Swim, lay on the beach, lunch... Afternoon Beers with J and Karen(Swiss girl we met)... THEN the FUNNIEST night EVER! From out place on the beach there is a dirt road heading back up to the main road.. We stopped at the sign vegetarian Italian (order 1hr in advance)..we licked our lips and I went in to chat to Franko the italian owner... Bahahaha he was already drunk, couldnt stop staring at my chest and just a hilarious character. I told the guys the story and the fact it's not really a restaurant as we know it.. It's more of a 4 table deck connected to his house. We were all up for a laugh and booked in! When we come back to dine the story starts this is the overview.
Franko orders for us.. There is no menu. Tells us at least 6 times how amazing and fresh his tomato salad was... Convinced us to buy an 890p bottle of wine Which none of us could really afford... Played hilarious gay Spanish cheesy music up full bore... He fell in love with me ad Karen and was quite frank about it (excuse the pun)... Free brandy shots... Superb food!!! Lots of it!!! Yum yum yum! Can u imagine 3 back packers sitting there s***ting themselves about how much all this amazingness is going to cost! Haha we were like nervous school kids..the bill came to $25 a head incl wine.. Wow! Slightly ridiculous.. But i gues u would
Spend that back home easily
For good Italian.. And this was GReAT Italian!!!
So after another brandy shop i butter up franko to take us into larena to the festival! He did.. Along with the cheesy spanish music and say our thanks and goodbyes! At the festival we have a redhorse and get up and dance to the live band and get the whole town up dancing! What a great night.. It was one of those random Nights you just go with and see what happens.. And we
Did! And what a fabulous time we had!!!
Good bye siquijor.. I'm going to miss u. Tomorrow morning I'm off to Cebu by ferry (waking up at 4am)!!
