I am currently sitting in a hostel in Rotorua watching Don't Mess With the Zohan. But to backtrack a bit Im going to write up the last couple of days which have been pretty busy!
I last wrote about going out in Coromandel... well the place was pretty dead. We went to a random bar but just ended up back at the hostel to chill for a little. We slept in the next day and took our time getting ready as we'd had quite a few early mornings. We also didn't really mean to sleep in and then decided to avoid the midday sun by doing some clothes washing, painting our nails etc. :)
The guys went to move on and see some friends from home but in a rush they forgot their camera! It was alright in the end because they managed to get in contact with us and we arranged to give it back in Rotorua. We visited the iSite to make some plans as to what to do in this odd little town and got directions to some beaches which we then checked out. Walking along the coastline was so beautiful - Coromandel really is a stunning place. We got to the first beach, however it was a little random and had a massive clay strip before getting to the ocean which was pretty shallow. Beaches are beaches though and the view was stunning so we just chilled out there anyway. When the tide came in a bit, Mel and I ventured out a bit... the clay was random and squishy but it was really nice to be in the sea anyway.
Mel read her book and decided to stay at that beach whereas Anna and I wondered down the road to find a toilet and see if the next beach was easier to swim in... it was amazing! The sun was straight ahead and the water was clear. The beach was decent but it was really nice just sitting on a rock that was in the ocean and looking at the view. It was a highlight of the holiday for me! We texted Mel but the signal was weak and she ended up staying at the other beach unfortunately. After a day like that we just relaxed for dinner too, we had jacket potatoes for dinner with salad and we even tried out a microwave vegetable lasagne (that was a bit awful) but it was actually a lovely meal and we just watched tv and went on the internet for a bit and had an early night in order to catch our bus the next morning toRotorua. Leaving the Lion's Den was again a bit sad! I think we get a bit attached to these places because they're all really nice. I rate the hostels in NZ highly :)
