Hmmmm Mt Cook...
Well it was raining when we got there. And the hostel was a lovely YHA with a fire and guitars and a sauna etc.
We watched a few films. And then Mel watched a few more as she still has really low energy.
Anna and I went on an adventure. Down the street, up the stairs, through the bush, out the bush, up the hill, across a river, up the mountain, gave up on the goat trail, back down the hill etc....
The visibility wasnt great and it was a little wet but a pretty good walk nonetheless. I can imagine the place would be stunning in the summer! We saw a bit of the glacier but after all that we didnt even catch a glimpse of the magnificent Mt Cook as the clouds were ruining everything.
We came back in time to watch a few more movies as the weather worked itself into some crazy hurricane. Literally thought our hut would fly away! The next day we also managed to oversleep and i got woken up by anna rushing about the room saying "theyre cleaning the room everyone else has checked out get up!" or something like that. Wasnt the best morning lol.
But we managed to relax and just have fun. Mel was a bit confused as to why Mt Cook was a planned stop in our trip - the 'town' doesnt even have a shop to buy food in... Never mind! Next stop, Christchurch!
