What a way to start my time in Livingstone, walking with lions! True they were only 3 years old, but a lion is a lion. We were driven over to the site at 6am as the sun rose above us, given our sticks and told not to let them get behind us. They couldn't find the indemnity forms so they had to wait until after we'd walked with the ferocious man-eaters!
One of the lions was called Luigi, a little link with my character at Ben and Laura's wedding! We each had our photos taken with a lion, one standing and one squatting down - both times with the sticks at the ready! We walked over to the Caracals after our walk had finished, a strange cat with larger than necessary ears - rather like Molly before she grew into them. A glimpse at the adult lions made the 1.2m and 200kg beasts seem pitiful behind the fence, but we were assured they're let out when walks aren't going on. It's still strange to see such wild animals behind a fence, whatever the reason.
Tea and coffee finished off our morning, but alas no scone as the company had only recently started out. Back to camp for breakfast!
