Talk about a crash course!!
I awoke this morning in my hostel, as usual about 10 minutes before my alarm was due to go off. I went to brush my teeth and there were these two Asian girls in there already brushing their teeth and speaking to each other in Mandarin with mouths full of toothpaste. I wondered if they could even understand each other, as they giggled and flecks of toothpaste went flying.
I had breakfast downstairs in the pub, which was just toast and cereal. Mercifully, this morning a normal breakfast, all I have wanted the whole time in Eastern Europe is plain white toast and a cup of tea. My requests are simple these days.
I got into the Expat offices at around 10am and left at about 6:30pm. I thoroughly enjoyed my ride to work on the tube this morning, as I always do when I'm working in London. Working in London, sounds so simple, but once upon a time that was my dream. My dreams are bigger now.
All day today I was fed expat, breathed expat and lived expat…by the end of the day I couldn't even see straight. Of course it didn't help that I had an absolute blinding migraine headache all day. That's part and parcel of the life though, you have to work no matter how sick you are and there is basically no down time.
I went home after my long day, in the rain, typical London weather and even with my headache I was still smiling. I made a quite stop in at the Pharmacy to get some paracetamol and had a bit of a laugh and a joke with the pharmacist about my Bazinga hoodie.
I then came back to the hostel and attempted to sleep off the headache, which I managed after about 2 hours. At that point it was about 9pm and I had to venture out to get dinner, all that was open unfortunately were take away joints, so I had KFC which was manky,
Tomorrow I am up with the sun as I need to be back down at Canada Water to collect my group, of 48 people!
