This morning I woke up in Huntingdon and Aunty Wendy cooked me a big fry up breakfast. It was just like any Saturday at the Wilson house back home and it made me feel a bit homesick as Dad always cooks me breakfast on Saturdays.
After breakfast we went up the High Street, as Aunty Wendy had to get a few things. It was great to be back out in Huntingdon, we went past The Market Inn and The Three Tuns Pubs, the main Cathedral and the Cromwell Museum. I bought a new pair of pants and some long sleeve shirts to go to Moscow with me next week.
We got back from the high street and sat outside in Aunty Wendy's lovely garden, chatting, drinking tea and eating cake in the beautiful sunshine, which is very unusual for England at this time of year.
At about 11:30am I headed back to the train station and caught the train back to London to meet Phil at Cannary Warf. I met up with Phil and we drove to Oxford….in Phil's convertible. I'd never been in a convertible before. We drove though central London and Phil pointed out places of interest. I couldn't help grinning, thinking I was zooming through London in a convertible. I'm sure Phil must have thought I was a bit mad, keep taking pictures of myself in his car! I've got this great one with Big Ben in the background.
The drive out to Oxford, once we got out of London, took about an hour and we found Breda's place with no trouble. It was great to see both Phil and Breda and we spent the afternoon chewing over old times and all the fun/madness we'd had in Africa. I got to talk about Ethiopia as much as I wanted with out getting paid out like I would at home.
We decided to walk to the pub and have a drink, on the way we went past some of the universities and churches and had a few drinks in a pub by the river. We left that pub and ended up at a place called the turf, in which Bob Hawke had skulled a yard of ale in eleven seconds. Phil insisted on taking a picture of Breda and I in front of that sign.
After we had dinner at the turf and a few more drinks we headed back to Breda's and looked at photos of our trip and watched the videos I took of the talent quest we'd had at camp Um Vu Vu in Botswana. We were all hysterical, I don't think I had laughed that much since the actual talent show!
