I woke up this morning to the sound of bells, I looked out of my tent and discovered that Siobhan and I were surrounded by cows. It was about time to get up anyway, so we got up and packed the tent away and had breakfast, as usual breakfast was witnessed by about five people from the tribe, who obviously think us eating is fascinating. We left the camp and drove back to Turmi to go shopping, the market didn't open until about 10:30am, so we sat around in a café for about an hour, which was nice, not to have to rush around.

We walked off to the market, and as we were walking this girl just walked right up to Siobhan and slapped her. I didn't see it, if I had she would have been toast, no one slaps my tent buddy! It was awful, it was completely unprovoked and Siobhan is such a placid, lovely person. We reached the market and it looked as though people were still setting up. We sat in front of this make shift shed and people watched for a bit and these guys set up their stall right in front of us. They were selling multi coloured stripped thongs! They matched awesome shorts, so I bought some as I was in desperate need of a new pair. There were a lot of poor children around and I tried to give my old thongs to one boy, who looked at them and shook his head. They were really that bad, they did have a hole in the bottom of them. Another boy came up to me and pointed at them and I handed them over and he ran off with them. At least he has shoes of some sort, I tought to myself.

We left the market and went back to the first camp we visited in the Omo, some people went to watch the Hammer tribes bull jumping festival. I decided to hang out and do my washing, that was an experience in itself, as I had to haul water up from the well at the campsite. Good fun. Especially, as the bucket had holes in it and you had to haul the water up really fast or you basically got no water! It was nice to have an afternoon off and I just lounged around for the rest of the afternoon.

After dinner I stayed up for a few hours with Yngvar, Guy, Shannon and Dave. There was a donkey up the hill who kept making awful noises, which we all thought was hilarious as it happened when Dave went up the hill to go to the bathroom."What is he doing to the donkey?" someone commented. We also saw a small cat like creature with green eyes, some kind of genet Dave said.
