Last night saw the onset of Bali Belly for the both of us. Harry is still feeling a bit shady, but after one round of the runs and a dose of Imodium, I seem to be fine... So I am hoping it stays that way! Haz hasn't been well most of the day today, still has an upset tummy, but the worst of it seems behind him... Again, WE HOPE! Last night was mayhem. We decided we wanted something we were used to to settle our stomachs... Seeing as though we are Pad Thai fiends, we thought we'd hit Antique Thai which was recommended to us. We had the name of the street, got in a taxi, told him the name of the restaurant and he started saying something about beachside cafes, so we just said 'no, Thai food, fine thanks'. So we get to this beachside street lined with nice restaurants & told him just to drop us off, we'll walk there. all of a sudden, there was nothing...not even street lights, a dead end road. so we walked back... to cut a long story short, we asked where it was, asked if we even had the right street and we were about 3 kms away from the street, let alone the restaurant... That taxi driver was an idiot! We ended up going to this really cool Mexican place called Poco Loco, which was great, however the spicy food probably wasn't the best for our stomachs! This morning we went surfing over at Serangan Island... It was soooooooooo beautiful.... Just desert with little shack-looking things on the horizon, then, perfect waves and crystal clear water and white sand. It was soooo nice... photos will tell more than I ever could so I will leave it at that. Our driver was a loony, had the flu so was driving with one of those Vicks sticks inserted, and safely secured up his nose... Very funny. Came home and it was too hot so we had a rest, Haz wasn't well at all so I left him to sleep & went down to the pool. Met this really nice Canadian lady who is travelling alone and we chatted for hours - so I now have swimmer marks! I'm so happy, this actually means my bum is a different colour to my arms! Overall a nice, slow, quiet day... Really lovely, not sure about tomorrow, see how we are feeling I guess! Phoebe & Harry xxx
