Phoebe's Photos!
Hello all...
The internet was down yesterday so we didn't get to write. I spose you guys have all heard about the earthquake over here in Indonesia again yesterday - it hit Ache & measured a 6.1 - but we weren't affected at all, & since it was a land-based quake, there's not much chance of us being affected at all, which is GREAT!
Yesterday was a quiet day, lovely actually. We decided just to take it easy as the surf wasn't going to be any good due to the early onshore breezes. We slept in past 7am which was a first & crused the shops for deals, not much good stuff around but still not wanting to buy much yet til closer to the end of our trip so we don't exhaust our funds prematurely.
While we were shopping we went into TIMEZONE, y'know that games arcade hat you haven't stepped foot into since we were about 10 years old! Harry & I had a BALL! We had a dance off on that electronic dancing machine - the one that the Japs are always on and are really good at? Yeah, well I kicked Harry's butt! He killed me in car racing and basketball shooting, but I got him again on the air hockey table... So we broke even. He reckons we need another go on the Air Hockey table cos he reckons I fluked it... PURE SKILL I keep telling him!!
We went to a really nice restaurant last night called Lemon Grass Thai - we finally got our fix of Pad Thai so we are happy now. It was our most expensive meal yet costing 180,000 Rupiah which is only $AU25 which goes to show how well our dollar does over here. We had Strawberry Daiquiri's which almost killed us they were so toxic... they had all the alcohol in them, but not the crushed iceto water it down so it was what we like to call the Essence of Daiquiri. We have been eating like kings since we got here - we deserve Bali Belly!
Which reminds me of today...
This morning we went to Dream Land which is about 10 mins NW along the coast from Uluwatu. It was beautiful. We were told it was and we now know why. However, it was onshore due to the time of year, but still lovely. We got some great pics so once we get back to Australia we will show you all. On the way home from Dream Land I told Haz that my tummy was feeling funny and about 2 minutes later I had these stabbing pains in my lower stomach... Bali Belly was BACK and in FULL FORCE!! I asked Haz to ask our driver to stop at a Toilet, but nobody understood my urgency! I ended up saying MADAYE, STOP, QUICK, TOILET, VERY SICK!! So we actually went faster than 30km/hr, he stopped in front of a Hotel, Haz ran up to ask for a toilet while I followed very smoothly as not to disrupt my urgent yet fragile state and I quicky got in there, not time to lock the door - lucky I swung the door hard enough that it closed and the rest is history. It was about 90 degrees, it smelt like...I don't even know, so I'm sitting there holding my nose with sweat dripping down my arm from my head when I realise...NO TOILET PAPER!! This was by far THE WORST MOMENT OF MY LIFE... I just wanted someone to shoot me right there and then. In retrospect it was the funniest thing ever, but at the time I couldn't think of a worse situation to be in. Anyone who has seen American Pie will know the FINCH scene...well that is all that was going through my head and I swear it was just as bad.
Anyway, enough bodily function stories. Harry and I hope that today will see the end of this terrible condition once and for all... FINGERS CROSSED!
Nothing planned for tonight as yet, Haz wants to go back to TIMEZONE - so we'll see.
Sorry for boring you...
Can't wait to wash my hair in Aussie water (warm with pressure)!
Love Feebs and Harry xxx
