Into Roebourne this morning, a smallish very old town with a big aboriginal presence. No public toilets due to the indigenous. Probably a dozen businesses in the town of which at least 10 were to do with aboriginal health or finance. Went to the information centre which is in the old gaol and incorporates a museum, it was very interesting and showed just how poorly the original inhabitants were treated. Went back into Dampier to a tap we had found this morning and Rose did the washing and I washed the van. Then into Karratha, we went to the swimming pool for a shower the water was freezing (no hot water) but it was good and invigorating to have a really good wash. Saturday we had a clean up there is a tap on the building we are parked alongside. I replaced the strut in the poptop roof, it was a tough job, very hard to compress to get in position, fortunately a bloke lent me a set of steps. On the road this morning, the dirt road wasn't nearly as bad as we thought it might have been. Was a great drive amazing passing these trains 2.4kms long, we passed six empty trains going in the opposite direction to us.
