We had a great time in Saigon but left early yesterday to endure the six hour bus ride to Phnom Penh in Cambodia. The border was great fun, just what we were used to in Africa! I don't know why but once again just as arrived the heavens opened and we got soaked! Every time we arrive, have heavy bags and no idea where we are going or how we are going to get there it rain!
We visited the Toul Sleng Genocide Musuem and Choeung Ek Memorial at the Killing Fields this morning. Prior to 1975, Toul Sleng was a school but when the Khmer Rouge came to power they converted it into a prison and interrogation centre. They had over 17,000 inmates and less than a dozen survived. When they had finished there torture/interrogation they took them to the killing fields and executed them.
We are here until Monday when we head up to Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat, another six hours on a bus!
