Left Wellington a few days ago after a great stay with Charlie and have a few nights to remember. I ended up booking the Kiwi Experience bus to Auckland and left early (a bit too early at 7:45am) up to Taupo. Had a great bus ride there with the driver pointing out a few interesting sites on the way, on the bus also met anice guy going to Glasgow Uni next year and so may see him again in a few months.

In Taupo had a wander round and went to see the local waterfalls and river-rapids, and the thermal stream that flows into the main river. Pretty impressive stuff that AGAIN cameras dont do justice. The only down side to my stay there was that the kitchen in the hostel was tiny and so absolutly packed, was getting a wee bit irritated.

After 2 days in Taupo i got on the bus again for the hour ride to Rotorua where the town pleasently smells of sulphur (rotten eggs), luckily you get used to it after a few hours. Today just had a walk around with a friend from the bus to look at the mud pools and steaming rocks, tomorrow its the real deal when i hope to see gysers and all. Will hopefully get an action picture.
