Run out of time in Rotorua but enjoyed every minute of it. I stayed in a great hostel (Funky Green Voyager) and met a load of brilliant people, including one Brazillian who may come and visit me at Uni.
Its a wierd town Rotorua, but in a good way. Like i said before the entire town smeels of sulphur but the good thing about that is there as thermal pools and boiling mud EVERYWHERE. The best place i saw thermal activity was at Te Puia (local tourist atraction) where there were gysers erupting the entire time. Very impressive. Also went to see a cultrul show where a Haka was performed by a few Kiwi guys build like stone walls, although the best bit of the show was the frightened expresions on a few of the Korean guys in the front row when the Haka started.
The other day i spent in Rotorua consisted of walking around town and down by the lake, this was because i looked into my wallet and didnt find a lot there...The walk was great though and discovered a few thermal pools of my own down a small track to the lake. All in all a very interesting town to have a look round but there is no way i could live there.
Hopped back on the bus today and arrived in Auckland this afternoon to a hell-hole of a hostel (alliteration?), luckily im only staying two days. Tomorrow will try and meet up with a few people but may be hard as its quite a large town. The main thing im looking forward to is Tuesday as that is when my flight to Fiji is! Bring on the sun!
