Abbie - Today we cooked toast in the camp kitchen toaster for breakfast. Then Live and I went for a quick bounce on the jumping pillow. Then we decided to go to the gorges. First gorge we went to was Simpson's Gap. It had a big gap in the middle of two cliffs and had water on the ground sort of like a pond. It was beautiful the sun shined on the water. There were a few rocks and tried jumping in them but I got my shoes saturated. As I was squelching back we all stopped to look at some rock wallabies. Then we drove off to Standley Chasm, (it is actually pronounced casm!). But when we got there we were alarmed that we have to pay to see a natural attraction. So because we were so eager to swim at the next gorge we skipped Standley chasm and went to Ellery Creek. We swam there it was so cold I couldn't feel my legs! Then we came back to Alice Springs caravan park and went in the pool. It was much warner than our Ellery Creek swim. After for dinner we had homemade hamburgers then we went to bed.
Olivia - First we had a nice yummy toast for breakfast down at the camp kitchen. We went to a pace called Simpson's Gap where we went for a twenty minute walk up to a gap between two mountains. Abbie tried to go across the river but she stepped in it instead. Then we went to Standley Chasm where you had to pay $25 for a family so we didn't go. Instead we each got an ice-cream. Mine dropped but it didn't really matter. Next we went to a place called Ellery Creek where we had a swim in the creek. It was freezing. My body was numb. Then we went back to the caravan park and hopped in the pool. It was nice and warm. We had homemade burgers for dinner and then went to bed.

Aunty Lynne I'm enjoying reading your comments girls; it reminds me of our big trip 7 years ago. We also didn't like having to pay at Standley Chasm but we were there in time for the midday sun to shine through the cleft so we went anyway. We all rode our bikes along the 17 km track from Alice Springs to Simpson's Gap (over Roe Creek!) but then we sent Uncle Linton back to get the car as it was too far for the rest of us to ride back! You are very brave to swim in the waterhole and I'm not surprised you froze!
Grannyx Abbie and Olivia please tell Mum that she went there on our trip with Essex Heights families........to Standley Chasm that is. I wonder if she remembers! You are both mermaids but now with frozen tails!!!
