Well we spent pretty much the entire day on the train today, which came in quite useful so I could catch up on the large backlog of blogging I needed to do. Marianne packed us a lunch for the train so we pretty much just ate slept and wrote from 8:30 till 6 today.
To get to the mountain hostel we had to take the train, then a bus up then a gondola, because it was legit a small mountain town we were staying at. We had been warned by all the other travelers we have met along the way that Switzerland is super expensive so we did some grocery shopping in holland so we would be able to cook meals instead of eating out, like we have been doing for the rest of the trip. So we checked in, made dinner and settled in to play cards for a few hours before bed. There was also a group of Aussies staying at our hostel so we ended up all playing cards together for the night and ended up learning some new rules for president, and having a cool group to hang out with for the rest of our time in the mountains.
Fun fact: since I was hanging out with Aussies i thought one about Australia might be appropriate, even though I've never been. In Australia they pay for university, but not like we do. They just rack up a debt from the government while they are at school and then once they have a job where they start making a certain amount of money/yr you pay it back by being taxed at a higher tax bracket then people who have already paid it. Also it's not like osap where you are expected to pay it back within a few years, the government expects them to pay it back over 20+ years.
