Day 97. Today we are driving down to Port Lincoln on a day trip, about 30 minutes south of Coffin Bay. The weather is a beautiful calm sunny day of 22 degrees after a low of 5 degrees. First we drove up to Winter Hill Lookout for a panoramic view of Boston Bay and Port Lincoln. Down in the town centre we strolled along the Esplanade and onto the jetty before morning coffee at one of the many cafes along the main strip. A very nice tidy town where the local people obviously work hard in grain handling and seafood including aquaculture of the Southern Bluefin Tuna. Climbed the Old Mill built of sandstone in 1838. At the nearby modern Lincoln Cove Marina the fishing fleet which was in port, the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Lots of huge fishing boats and expensive houses all along the marina! Lunch at the Marina Hotel delicious - pumpkin soup, duck spring rolls and salt and pepper calamari. Back in Coffin Bay by mid afternoon for reading and relaxing in the sun. Dinner tonight our Coffin Bay oysters kilpatrick with grilled king prawns and salad. Yummy!
