Great Australian West North Expedition (GAWNE)
Day 20. Up early for our drive up to Kakadu for a few days. Straight through pretty Katherine (we will stay here for a couple of days on our way south), then onto Pine Creek for lunch in the shade. Onto the Kakadu Highway stopping at Cooinda for park entry passes and to purchase Yellow Waters Sunset Cruise tickets for Monday. Got a phone call from Robyn and Ross who we know from Canberra so we decided to drive on to Jabiru Lodge and Caravan Park to join them for a few nights. Drinks at our lush grassy van site then dinner at the poolside restaurant. Great to catch up on our travels with good friends! Warm 33 degrees today, travelled 420km.

mandy and chris Sounds wonderful Paul, especially when we are washing ice off the windscreen at 8am. If you have time, would recommend the ranger tour at Ubirr (near Cahills Crossing) of the aboriginal paintings and watching sunset from the the top overlooking wetlnds.
