The road to Milford Sound is closed again this morning and the caves are still flooded. There is a thick layer of ice on the car window screen this morning. It's cold driving along so when I reach a place called Rossburn I stop and have a full english breakfast and large coffee. I was due to go the glow worms caves today but my trip was cancelled because the caves are flooded. Several roads were closed today including the one we took yesterday to Milford Sound. It rained all morning so I just stayed around the hostel. It stopped raining around lunchtime so I rushed out to a cafe for coffee and lunch. I decided to have a break from driving today and go on a coach/ boat trip to Milford Sound. It rained all day and wasn't very much fun. The only bonus was that the rain had made the waterfalls more spectacular. We stopped a few times on the way back and got out of the coach to walk. By the time I got back to the hostel I was soaked through. My camera was soaked and stopped working. I tried to dry it out in the hostel's drying room but that didn't work. Luckerly...

On the drive to Te Anau, which is the access point to Milford and Doubtful Sound, I stopped at Kingston. But not upon Thames. I drove to Queenstown today, it only took a couple of hours. On the way I stopped at Cormwell which was dead apart from coffee shops, maybe because it's a Sunday morning and also went though Arrowtown. A quaint place which sprang up in the 1860s following the discovery of gold in the Arrow river. Many of the original building are still in place.
