After feeling slightly dejected after not being able to do my skydive in Taupo, we got up early in Tongariro ready for our adventure!! We even packed sandwiches and drinks in a little bag...and if you know me and Paul, you will realise that this was VERY organised for us!! But after getting prepared and dressed with our camper curtains shut (obviously!) we were in for a shock when we finally stepped outside. Although the torrential rain from during the night had stopped, we were now completely surrounded by what I can only describe a pea soup fog! You couldnt see much further than a foot in front of you!! We hung around for a wee while hoping that it would clear bu by lunch time it only seemed to be getting worse! We decided at that point to head on. As neither of us can ski and the only other thing to do is admire the mountains, which through fog is impossible we headed off to Wellington. As you can imagine by this point we were getting a bit fed up! xx
