Got our bus at 9:30am on Wednesday morning and arrived here around 5ish. After arriving at our great hostel 'Downtown Siem Reap Hostel' we discovered that they didn't have any electricity in Siem Reap all that day. This meant no wifi, no water and no air con so of course sure what could we do when it was getting dark but sit at the poolside bar in candle light and get to know the people that we were staying with.
The atmosphere here is very chilled and you can see that in the owner but I must admit its pretty nice!
The electricity came on about 8pm so we got washed and went for some food and took a wander down to pub street. What we didn't realise was that there is a week ban on music here because of the king being cremated a few days previously. It was a full pub street but slightly eery. Although its say the 'Angkor What bar' would be good Craic when it's on full swing. Came back to the hostel and had more drinks with four Canadian girls which we keep meeting along our travels. Eclaire were a tad drunk but very funny because Emer discovered the Southern Comfort. and the bar mans hand was a tad heavy.
Up and at it early this morning and we went to see Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Byron. These are the types of places you can't not see in Siem Reap.
Leaving Cambodia for Babgkok tomorrow and I must say that I'm kind of glad because I've been bitten alive here which is s*** because I've went so long without any bites. Itchy as hell doesn't even cover it and they are awful looking.
