6:15 alarm as Dave C and I had an 8:00am pickup. The weather wasn’t too bad but the forecast was for more snow and wind. The transport vehicle stopped at a couple more lodges before arriving at the transport hub. Could have walked it quicker! Dave C wisely suggested that I fetch the car without carrying the luggage to the car park and drive back to the transport hub and collect him and the gear. I had fashioned a snow scoop from a plastic milk carton which I planned to use to de-snow the car but I had left it in my bag which was back at the transport hub! The car started and Chris had walked down to meet me so he helped dig out the car! Collected the gear and Dave and we drove back to Melbourne stopping at Mytleford for morning coffee and to return the chains (which we didn’t have to use) then on to Seymour for lunch and then Coburg at about 2:30. Met Lisa near the caravan park and we returned to the van and prepared it for our last night. Returned the roof rack and kayaks to the roof and all the gear that had been stored in the van back into the ute tray. Then we moved the van to our overnight site. It was 5:45 by the time we finished and we had a wine and some dinner before turning in.
