After our amazing day yesterday we had a good night's sleep and a bit of a lay in. It's been really hot today, about 32 degrees!! We got all our laundry sorted early this morning and then have spent most of the day in the city. We did a bit of shopping, had a nice lunch and then lazed around in the sun! Today we have had the most fantastic day of our trip so far!!!! We went to The Great Barrier Reef!! We got up this morning and boarded Ocean Freedom where we were greated with danishes, fruit and a large cup of coffee. We sailed to 'Wonderwall' - this is an 18 metre drop wall of coral. Today we walked to the Botanic Gardens - it was hot!! It wasn't as big as we thought it would be but were pleased to see some shade. We did the Rainforest Boardwalk and saw the lake, which wasn't that impressive. We walked to the other side of town to check out the marina (where we are getting the boat for our reef tour on Monday). This was really nice and reminded us of Ocean Village. We arrived in Mission Beach after our 8 hour coach journey at 5am! We had to walk for 30 minutes with our heavy backpacks to the hostel in the dark so we had to get our torches out!!!
