The 3 hour train trip from Amsterdam to Paris went very fast. The train ripped along at 300kph. We managed to negotiate the metro (underground) when we arrived to find our way to our apartment. Apartments in Europe are different to Australia and the U.K. We have adjusted what we considered to be small in the UK as we now have a new standard. Units in Europe are very small. And old. Again we have no overhead lights which seems really strange. We went to the Louvre this afternoon as it was unusually quiet. It is enormous. There are a mixture of paintings and statues. The paintings date from 1200's and the sculptures from about 500-1850,s. The grounds outside are magnificent as well. We walked along the Seine
