Had a slow start this morning. This is our final full day in the Northern Territory and also our last full day of not travelling. After a bacon and egg breakfast treat we regrouped and headed out for the Rim walk.
The 6km signposted loop ended up being 9.5km (another example of making sure you do not take to much notice of distances on information boards). It was a beautiful walk. The initial climb to the top of the canyon was pretty steep though we then walked around the top of the canyon. It was a bit daunting trying to keep an eye on the kids with the sheer drops into the canyon below. Joel and Caitlyn happily crawled up to the edge at one point and looked over the edge and I found an easy excuse not too - had to keep an eye on Jacob and Angela.
We walked through the lost city, more sandstone domes that have been weathered away and the 'Garden of Eden' - the water hole and creek at the top of the canyon.
Headed back to camp, got a few jobs down (for the trip home) and an early hot shower (the hot water ran out pretty early last night). Got out the mad and planned the next stage of the trip home with the Drivers - who we will be travelling with for at least several days.
Can't believe it is nearly over!
