WOW what a journey...138 km, 2 mopeds, 3 people, 0 accidents, 5 Hours, quite a bit of altitude, millions of hairy corners and 2 very sore bottoms and we arrived in sleepy Pai. We were planning on doing a yoga retreat but it fell through but actually it was perfect. It meant more relaxing and catching up with washing clothes and blogs etc. Pai is a hippy town with the best tea house Asia has to offer (my own personal opinion). You can pretty much choose whatever kind of tea you like. I had a hot masala chai with honey and Bryn had an iced banana chai. The later is now featured in our travelling recipe book!
Only 1 day in Pai sadly because of the meditation retreat in Chiang Mai starting the day after. Hot springs was the exciting treat here and flipping Jenkins they were hot! Super soft skin the next day!
Accommodation in Pai was kind of like posh camping! We were in bamboo huts on a mattress with a mozzie net. Still not used to these cold showers! Hair wash can wait until Chiang mai! So far I haven't brushed it for about 10 weeks, oh the joys of shortish hair!
Pai very frustrating saw the tablet slightly smashed for the second time, but this time leaving it still partially usable.
The journey back on Monday was slightly quicker as we grew with confidence but still involved changing drivers every 20 minutes because the back was so uncomfy!
