From extreme to extreme. Down jackets, scarfs, hats and walking boots to immediately into flip-flops, vests, shorts and what else can I take off? We definitely stood out with our pastey white skin, which is never good in a country you should haggle for things.
After arriving in KL airport we jumped on a bus, which luckily was running late (back to the waiting game and increasing patience again) and headed to Malacca for a bit of retail therapy. On our last visit to Malaysia, Bryn turned into my own little shopping assistant, as he handed me in clothes to 'just try on', well the same happened this time! Why not when it costs so much less than in England and clothes are lovely (and I'm being encouraged!) Next parcel sent off home...possibly number 7?
Our arrival in Malacca was perfect timing (not planned) for a wander down the Saturday night market street.
We revisited a little family at wan ton mee cafe, just in time to see the youngest girl before she put herself into her cot in the same room we were eating in and snuggled up for bed. The dumpling noodle soup tasted just as good as last time and it was lovely to revisit them 7 months later.
Straight back to dorm life with a 16 bed army style room and nice to be meeting people again and listening to travelling stories.
Fingers crossed for Indian visas when we arrive back in KL.
Love Jo x
